Hey y'all. I'm starting a series called The Next Generation Series (catchy huh?) Each story is pretty much the life of each of the HP Next Generation child at Hogwarts, except for the Prolouge and Epilouge.
In each story, there will be alot of similar events but in the POV of the main character of that story, i'll be starting with Teddy's story 'A Metamorphagus in the Moonlight' since he's my favourite as well as the oldest.
Warning: Deathly Hallows ahead! Don't read this if you haven't read the book!
Disclaimer: I wish I could say that I owned the Harry Potter books or the characters but sadly, I just own the OC's! Which when you think about it, there's going to be alot. Now if you need me, i'll be off thinking of OC's.
A Metamorphagus In The Moonlight

Tears. Little Teddy Lupin tossed and turned, trying to sleep, but couldn’t. He stared at the clock in his room, wishing he knew how to tell time. He, then, looked out the window and saw nothing but darkness, he sat straight up and looked around. He could hear the sobbing, it was coming from somewhere in the house, though not in his room. Curious, he got out of bed, rubbing his eye with a tiny hand. The door to his room was open, since he was still too small to reach the knob, so grabbing his favorite stuffed animal, a gray wolf, on the way, he pushed open the door and crept towards the sound. He finally stopped, the crying was coming from behind the door ahead. A faint light was coming from inside. He looked up and realized it was his grandmother’s bedroom. His hair turned a light blue as the thought of his granny crying entered his mind, he pushed open the door and whispered, “Granny?” and began taking small footsteps towards Andromeda’s bed.
Andromeda Tonks was neither young or old, she had long brown hair that was beginning to gray, and skin beginning to wrinkle. She was Teddy’s only family, he was still not sure what that meant, but he loved his grandmother and hated to see her like this. She was sitting down on her bed, beneath her blanket, and she was holding a book, tears were falling from her face as she pointed her wand towards the book, light coming from it. She looked up when she head Teddy’s voice.
The woman let go of the old brown book, looked down at Teddy and a small smile appeared on her lips. “Hello, my little Teddy,” she said softly, before picking him up and placing him beside her on the big bed. He sat down, making himself comfortable, holding the toy tightly in his arms, although his hair was still a miserable shade of blue.
“Granny,” he asked, “why are you crying?” He looked into Andromeda’s bright brown eyes which were usually so bright and happy, but at the moment, were tired, dark and watery.
She stopped smiling and wiped away some of her tears. “Don’t worry about me, Teddy. I’m alright,” she replied. She didn’t look at him as she said it and when she closed the book, more tears replaced the ones she wiped away earlier.
Teddy stared at it, wondering, was the book what made his grandmother so upset? “Granny, what story were you reading? Was it scary?”
Andromeda shook her head, “I wasn’t reading a story, Teddy. I was looking at a photo album of mine.”
Teddy looked interested, “Ooh. What kinds of pictures?” Momentarily forgetting that what Andromeda had been looking at had caused her great grief.
“Would you like to see,” she asked showing Teddy the book. Teddy stared at the book for a few seconds, imagining frightening creatures or something equally upsetting. But, he thought, his granny would never show him something that Teddy would be scared of or make him sad.
After what seemed forever, Teddy nodded, his blue hair beginning to turn darker, into a sort of Aquamarine color. He snuggled up to his grandma and looked at the book’s pages as Andromeda opened them. The first picture showed a man and a woman, Teddy had never seen the man before but the woman was very familiar. “Hey, that’s you!” he said, pointing a finger at the woman. “But who’s that?” moving his finger at the man, who’s arm was around his grandmother, both were smiling and waving at Teddy. He had had fair hair and a large-ish belly which seemed to slightly jiggle as though he was laughing.
Andromeda’s voice seemed to crack, “That was-was Ted.”
Teddy, began to laugh, “No, Granny, I’m Ted,” he laughed, thinking it was a joke.
Andromeda shook her head slightly, “No, Teddy, that was Ted Tonks, your grandfather.” She soon started to cry again, obviously thinking of her husband. Teddy’s hair lightened again, and he pointed at the next picture, it was another picture of his grandparents, but between them was a young girl around 5 years old, tugging on Teddy’s grandfather’s cloak, her face looking from the camera to the adults beside her.
Teddy pointed at the girl, “And who’s she?” He looked closer at the picture and noticed that the girl’s hair and nose kept changing colors and shape, he gasped. “She’s a Metabormanaphogususus,” he exclaimed, messing up on the word. He couldn’t believe it. Another person could change parts of their body besides him! But who was she? He turned to face his grandmother.
“Metamorphagus,” corrected Andromeda, her face still teary, “And that’s Nymphadora. My daughter. And your mother.”
Teddy looked at the little girl in the picture. Was this true? Was this her mother? If so, were was she now? Teddy’s godfather, Harry Potter, told him that she, and his father, Remus Lupin, had gone to a better place and they were watching over him. But, Teddy always wondered, if they went to a better place, why hadn’t they brought Teddy along? And if they were somewhere else, then how could they watch over him? A spell or charm, perhaps?
The next photo was of two people, the woman had short, spiky, pink hair, her eyes were dark and twinkling, she had a pale, heart shaped face and although she wasn’t stunningly beautiful, she was pretty, nonetheless. Her head was leaning on the shoulder of an older man, 13-15 years older but his appearance made him seem much older, with graying light brown hair and looking quite sickly and tired, his robes were shabby but a smile spread across his face in the picture. Staring at the two made Teddy smile, he had never seen them in his life but there was something about them made him feel warm inside.
“Who are they?” he asked, a smile still on his face.
“Your p-parents.” Sighed Andromeda, “Nymphadora and Remus.”
Andromeda was about to turn the page when a single photograph fell out of the book. It was older than the others and Teddy didn’t see his mother, father or his grandfather, but three teenage girls staring at him, the one on the far right with hair that almost matched the color of the photo, a light brown or sepia tone. His hair began to grow a few inches and his hair matched the girl’s, he stared at the girl for a few more seconds, watching her smile, and wave slowly, her robes, which Teddy knew where Hogwarts robes from when he visited his godfather, except that Harry’s had a lion on it and the girl’s had a bird on it. He looked at the girl in the middle, her hair was darker and, in contrast to the girl beside her, instead of smiling and waving, she had a cold frown on her face that sent chills down Teddy’s spine and her arms were folded together, Teddy managed to see a snake on her robes, not wanting to look at the middle girl any longer, his eyes darted to the last girl, her hair was the lightest of all three and while the first girl looked sweet, and the second looked menacing, she looked calm and a bit haughty. She was also frowning, but she didn’t have that coldness that the middle girl had. And she too, had a snake on her robes Teddy looked up at his grandmother, “Who are they?”
“That’s me,” said Andromeda picking up the photo and pointing to the girl that was smiling, Teddy’s mouth shaped into a small ‘o’ and she continued, now pointing at the blonde, “that’s my sister. Narcissa.” Teddy made a noise as though to ask another question but thought better of it and let Andromeda continue. “and that,” she hissed, pointing at the dark haired girl, her voice in a tone that Teddy had never heard it before, “is Bellatrix. My other sister.”
Teddy looked at his grandmother again, letting go of his stuffed animal, he sat straighter and asked, “Why don’t they come to visit, like Harry? Or are they living in the same place as mummy and daddy?” He said the last part with hesitation but still looked at his granny for answers.
“We were never close,” said Andromeda, looking ahead, “Narcissa and I have talked a bit since it passed but Bellatrix. I wouldn’t want anything to do with her even if she had survived!” She spoke each word louder, harsher and Teddy just stared at his grandmother, crawling farther from her, he didn’t want to admit it but this side of Andromeda scared him, even if he didn’t understand what she was talking about.
Andromeda must have realized she had said this all aloud, for as she continued to cry, she moved towards Teddy and gave him one of her small, caring hugs. “I’m sorry, Teddy,” she whispered, “someday you will understand.” And both giving a last glance at the book, Andromeda picked up her grandson and took him back to his own bed, but not before he looked at another photo, one of three people, his mother, looking lovingly at the small boy she was holding, and his father, looking gray and tired, but Teddy saw, looking as though this was one of the happiest days of his life, there, being with his wife. Being with his son. Being with Teddy.
That night, he dreamt of his mother, his father, his grand father and even years later, Teddy still remembered that night. Teddy yawned and hugged the gray wolf one last time, before he fell into deep sleep.
Author's note: You better have liked it! And yea, Teddy's about four in the Prolouge, but before you say anything, I babysit a three and five year old and they speak clearly! Ok, hehe, I think I could have done a better job at the prolouge but I still like it. Wanted to show how Teddy still doesn't understand death and Andromeda missed her family and loaths Bellatrix after the death.
